การปรับแต่ง Simulator การกำหนด Mode ของ Landscape , Portrait (แนวนอน-ตั้ง) ในการเขียน Windows Store Apps บน Visual Studio เราสามารถที่จะเรียกใช้ Simulator ซึ่งเป็นโปรแกรมจำลอง OS ของ Windows 8 ให้อยู่ในสถาวะแวดล้อมที่เหมาะสมสำหรับการ Run หรือ Debug โปรแกรม หน้าตาก็จะเหมือน OS ของ Windows 8 ที่รันบน PC / Notebook ทั่ว ๆ ไป หรือจะเป็น Tablets เช่น Surface ของ Microsoft และเจ้าตัว Simulator นี้เราก็สามารถทำอะไรกับมันได้หลาย ๆ อย่างเพื่อทดสอบโปรแกรมที่เราเขียนขึ้น เช่น กำหนดขนาด Screen Resolution เพื่อทดสอบกับขนาดต่าง ๆ ของ Tablets หรือจะปรับ Rotate หมุ่นในแนว ตั้ง-นอน (Landscape , Portrait) เพื่อทดสอบ การแสดงผลของ Apps ได้ หรือในกรณีที่เขียนร่วมกับ Map ก็สามารถกำหนดค่า Latitude และ Longitude ของเครื่อง Simulator เพื่อทดสอบตำแหน่งของ GPS ได้เช่นเดียวกัน

การเรียกใช้งาน Simulator สามารถเลือกได้จากเมนู

Run -> Simulator

การปรับแต่ง Simulator ต่าง ๆ ในการรัน Application ของ Windows Store

หน้าจอ Simulator แสดงผลในโหมดปกติ

1. การปรับ Change resolution บน Simualtor

เลือก Change resolution

สามารถปรับขนาดของ Resolution ได้ตาม Size และขนาดต่าง ๆ

จะเห็นว่าขนาดของ Font ใน Simulator มีขนาดเล็กลง

2. การ Rotate หมุ่นสลับตำแหน่ง แนวตั้งและแนวนอน Landscape , Portrait

เลือก Rotate สามารถ หมุ่นได้ในแนว Landscape และ Portrait

3. การ Set Location เป็นการระบุตำแหน่ง ของ GPS ไว้สำหรับทดสอบกับการเขียน Map

จะเห็นว่า สามารถเลือก โหมดต่าง ๆ ของ แนวตั้ง และ แนวนอน ว่าจะให้สามารถแสดงผลโหมดใดได้บ้าง

และเมื่อทดสอบรัน Application ของ Windows Store บน Simulator ตัว Apps ของเราก็จะสามารถแสดงผลได้เฉพาะ Mode ที่เรากำหนดไว้
